Chris McKay’s Sci-Fi ‘The Tomorrow War’ Releases Its Final Trailer

Amazon has released the final trailer for its upcoming original Prime movie, The Tomorrow War, time-traveling alien apocalypse blockbuster starring Chris PrattThe new trailer opens with an encounter between Dan Forester (Pratt) and his father, who will be played by J.K. Simmons. An obvious tension exists in the air between them, but his father is ready to support his son in any way he can after Dan asks for his help.

The Tomorrow War looks like it will include a ton of action and sci-fi thrills. But the final trailer’s opening reminds the viewer that real stakes are at hand, focusing on family and friend relationships first before centralizing on the larger plot.

The film also takes on the sci-fi genre with an interesting twist, the premise being that a group of time-travelers goes back in time to warn humanity about an intergalactic war that humans are inevitably losing. It is the responsibility of the people of our time to travel to the future to give humanity a better fighting chance against the sheer number of invading aliens on planet Earth. The final trailer also shows the alien themselves, creatures with large tentacles and harrowing teeth.

This will be Chris McKay’s first live-action movie with a script by Zach Dean. McKay has also directed The Lego Batman Movie. And The Tomorrow War’s cast includes Yvonne Strahovski, Betty Gilpin, Sam Richardson, Edwin Hodge, Jasmine Mathews, Ryan Kiera Armstrong, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Theo Von, and Keith Powers.

The sci-film feature will only be streaming exclusively on Amazon Prime Video starting July 2nd after being sold by Paramount, according to Collider. Check out the final trailer below and be sure to stream the movie when it comes out!
