Chris Hansen Purchases Ads To Distract From Marketing For ‘Primetime’

Robert Pattinson as Chris Hansen in A24's 'Primetime'

Chris Hansen has bought advertisements to steer audiences away from A24’s Primetime. He advises audiences to watch videos on his streaming platform, TruBlu, which is inspired by the predator investigations that gained his fame. He stated in the ad,

I’m going to need everyone in the theater to take a seat right over there. Now there are more platforms than ever before where this disturbing crime is being committed. Join us undercover every day on my streaming network, TruBlu.

He also intended to say that the film was “a Hollywood fantasy version” of the events that occurred but he wanted to avoid backlash, so he decided against it. Hansen also refused to attend the opening of the film because he needed to sign an agreement to not take legal action against A24. Hansen also reported that he is in talks with different attorneys to explore different options. Primetime focuses on Chris Hansen and his exposure of predators on camera. The film will be screened at the Venice International Film Festival on September 5. Lance Oppenheim (Some Kind of Heaven, The Whale) directs. The film stars Robert Pattinson (Twilight, The Batman), Skyler Gisondo (Vacation, Santa Clarita Diet), Merrit Wever (Nurse Jackie, Godless), Anna Farris, (Scary Movie, The House Bunny) and others.

Primetime is set to release in theaters on September 25.
