Check Out Tom Hiddleston as Hank Williams in the Trailer for ‘I Saw The Light’

One of the greatest American country singers is brought to life by an unlikely source, the British Tom Hiddleston. Best known for his role as the sly but charming Loki in The Avengers and Thor films, Hiddleston seemingly nails Hank Williams’ country soul down to a tee in the new I Saw The Light trailer.

The embattled and tragic Hank Williams shot to fame at a young age but met a quick end just as fast. The upcoming biopic will star Tom Hiddleston and Elizabeth Olsen. Coincidentally both have characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films. Olsen portrays Williams’ wife, Audrey Mae.

“People don’t write music, it’s given to them,” famously said Hank Williams and that’s how the trailer starts. From his drinking to his lothario ways, Williams was a captivating character whose charisma and personality coupled with his talent paved the way for his success. Hiddleston does a magnificent of capturing all of the elements and nuances that made Williams such a fascinating person.
