A new teaser trailer has emerged for the upcoming Netflix holiday special A Very Murray Christmas. The throwback to musical variety fare of yore reunites Bill Murray (Rock the Kasbah) with his Lost in Translation director S0fia Coppola (The Bling Ring) and boasts a cavalcade of stars.Murray plays himself, an entertainer hosting a live holiday broadcast from New York’s storied Carlyle Hotel. When a massive blizzard hits Manhattan, he fears that his guest stars might not make it to the show and he does his best to improvise in the classic ‘the show must go on’ spirit.
Murray’s all-star guests include George Clooney (the upcoming Hail, Caesar), Miley Cyrus, Amy Poehler (Inside Out), Maya Rudolph, Jason Schwartzman (The Overnight), Paul Shaffer and Chris Rock.
The script, penned by Coppola, Murray and his longtime production partner Mitch Glazer was very much a homegrown project, “sort of something we were just making for ourselves” per Coppola.
