Check out the Trailer for Amy Berg’s ‘Every Secret Thing’

In Amy Berg’s directorial debut (for feature-length films), an old crime comes back to haunt a town when two killers are released from juvenile detention. The movie stars Dakota Fanning as one of the killers and Elizabeth Banks as a detective fighting to find the truth in a web of lies.

In the trailer, we see the characters played by Dakota Fanning and Danielle Macdonald as young girls kidnap a baby off  a porch and take her away to be killed. Years later, the girls are released from prison only to have another young girl kidnapped. Banks’ character, along with her partner played by Nate Parker, investigate the kidnapping, trying to find who the real captors are.  As the investigation progresses, the detectives and the girls find themselves in a much larger mystery that makes everything and everyone seem suspect.

Amy Berg has had wide success as a documentarian, but this is her first feature-length narrative film. Every Secret Thing first premiered at the 2014 Tribeca Film Festival, and is based on the 2004 novel by Laura Lippman. Nicole Holofcener wrote the screenplay from the novel, and Frances McDormand produced, through the companies Starz Digital and Likely Story.

Every Secret Thing will be released in theaters and on iTunes on May 15.
