The boys are back – to the grind! A teaser trailer for Magic Mike XXL, the sequel to 2012’s sleeper hit starring Channing Tatum in the title role, has surfaced online.
The original Magic Mike, a surprise hit in 2012, was based on Tatum’s real-life experience as a male stripper in Tampa, Florida. The sequel reunites Tatum (Jupiter Ascending) with fellow Mike alums Matt Bomer (The Nice Guys), Joe Manganiello (Spider-Man 3), Kevin Nash (John Wick), Adam Rodriguez (About Last Night), and Gabriel Iglesias (A Haunted House 2). Three years after Mike’s retirement from the male stripper world, he’s convinced to join up with his Kings of Tampa crew for final no-holds-barred performance at a convention in Myrtle Beach. Joining the action for this go-round are Amber Heard (the upcoming The Danish Girl), Michael Strahan (TV’s Good Morning America), Jada Pinkett Smith (Collateral), and Elizabeth Banks (Pitch Perfect 2).
Gregory Jacobs (Wind Chill) directs from a script by Tatum and Reid Carolin.
Magic Mike XXL won’t hit theaters until July 1st, but in the meantime, you can check out the trailer below.
