One of the most anticipated films of 2017 just got a smashing new trailer. Disney has officially unveiled our most expansive look to date for their upcoming live-action reboot of Beauty and the Beast. The 1991 animated film is one of Disney’s most cherished properties, a proud pillar of the Disney Renaissance as well as the first animated film to receive an Oscar nomination for Best Picture (and still the only one to have earned that title in a five-field race).
Bill Condon, Oscar-winning screenwriter of Gods and Monsters (1998) and director of an eclectic range of films that include Dreamgirls and the final Twilight chapters, shepherded the latest in a long-line of live-action reboots from the Mouse House. The impressive ensemble cast is headlined by Emma Watson as the inquisitive, book-worm Belle and Dan Stevens as the Beast, for whom she begins to falls for. Luke Evans (as Gaston), Kevin Kline (as Maurice), Ian McKellen (as Cogsworth), Ewan McGregor (as Lumiere), Gugu Mbatha-Raw (as Plumette), Audra McDonald (as Garderobe) and Emma Thompson (as Mrs. Potts) round out the estimable ensemble cast.
Beauty and the Beast opens in theaters on March 17, 2017. Check out the latest trailer below.
