Check Out the Latest Trailer for ‘Steve Jobs’

A new trailer has surfaced for the much-anticipated Steve Jobs biopic and it shows us more about the often stormy life of the innovative genius. Michael Fassbender (12 Years a Slave) portrays the visionary at three pivotal points in his illustrious career: the startup of the feisty Apple brand, the period in the 80s when control of the brand is wrestled away from him and his triumphant mid-90’s return to the company he co-founded in his garage.

Aaron Sorkin (The Social Network) adapted Walter Issacson’s bestselling 2011 biography of Jobs. Director Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire) has taken the unique tack of filming each era in Jobs’ life using different film formats to reflect the changing times.  According to Variety:

The picture’s major visual coup is the decision to shoot the three acts on three different formats: grainy 16mm film for 1984, lustrous 35mm for 1988, and sleek, high-definition digital for 1998

Seth Rogen (The Interview) co-stars as Jobs’ long time partner Steve Wozniack, and Kate Winslet (Revolutionary Road) appears as Joanna Hoffman, an early confidante and colleague. Katherine Waterston (Inherent Vice) plays Chrisann Brennan, Jobs’ ex-girlfriend and the mother of their daughter, who urges him to take his parental responsibilities seriously despite the fact that he won’t acknowledge paternity.

After a successful run at the recently concluded Telluride Film Festival, Steve Jobs hits theaters on October 9. Check out the trailer below.
