Check Out Both Green and Red-Band Trailers for ‘Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping’

Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone- collectively known as The Lonely Island– have riotous new film due in theaters this summer, cheekily titled Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping. The trailer has officially debuted, as has a harder, more R-rated restricted trailer.

The film follows singer/rapper Conner4Real (Samberg, former Saturday Night Live vet and Golden Globe winning star of the current FOX comedy series Brooklyn Nine-Nine) and his career slump following the failure of a much-anticipated sophomore album. This crisis leads the artist in a tailspin and alarms his fans, sycophants and rival musicians. Schaffer and Taccone directed the film which they scripted as well with Samberg.

The film also features a who’s who of celebrity cameos that will put Zoolander to shame. They include Carrie Underwood, Adam Levine, Joanna Newsom, Snoop Dogg, Pink, Usher Raymond and Simon Cowell. Samberg also enlisted a top-tier comedy team to support including SNL vets Bill Hader, Will Forte, Tim Meadows and Maya Rudolph. Sarah Silverman, Imogen Poots, Martin Sheen and Joan Cusack also appear.
