Bryan Cranston, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, And Seth Rogen Star In ‘Tangles’; A Depiction Of Alzheimer’s Through Animation

Tangles, set to debut at Cannes, is the directorial debut by Leah Nelson.  The film will follow Sarah returning home to her small hometown, forced to confront Alzheimer’s stripping away her mother’s personality as she grapples with the dark reality that surrounds the disease.

Plenty will be expected of Sarah, the situation she finds herself in forcing her to mature quickly to understand the person she needs to be for her family and herself.  Juggling relationship troubles, leaving behind her career as an artist and activist when moving back home, and her imperfect family as the mother she knew begins to become a painful memory.  Nelson also wrote the script for the film alongside Trev Renney and original writer Sarah Leavitt.  Monarch Media, Point Grey Pictures, Giant Ant Films, LYLAS Pictures are attached as the producing bodies for the film.  Star of the film Julia-Louis Dreyfus will be recording an episode of The Hollywood Reporter’s Awards Chatter podcast, focusing on a retrospective of her illustrious career.

The film is set to star Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Seth Rogen, Bryan Cranston, Abbi Jacobson, Beanie Feldstein, Samira Wiley, Sarah Silverman, Wanda Sykes, Bowen Yang, Pamela Adlon and Fern Grandin.  On the domestic front, UTA Independent Film Group and CAA Media Finance will handle sales, while Charades will take on international markets.
