Brie Larson to Star in Charlie Kaufman’s ‘I’m Thinking of Ending Things’

Oscar winning american actress Brie Larson, who will be seen playing in Marvel’s Captain Marvel this coming year, has been reportedly brought onto an upcoming Netflix adaptation. The film Larson will star in is I’m Thinking of Ending Things, which will be directed by american screenwriter Charlie Kaufman (Adaption, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind) and based on the 2016 Iain Reid novel of the same name.

I’m Thinking follows the story of Jake as he takes his significant other, known only as The Girlfriend, to his parents’ farm. Along the way, he accidentally leaves her at an abandoned high school. From there everything begins to unravel into dark suspense and psychological fear. With a creator like Kaufman on board to direct, there stands the possibility of it being a mind bending and perplexing but tense story that could potentially carry messages about the agonies of being human, which many of his screenplays have.

It seems that Larson would portray the character of The Girlfriend, but there has been no actor cast yet as Jake. Kaufman will produce with Anthony Bregman and Stefanie Azpiazu while Reid with co-produce. Few details are available, as the project remains in the earlier stages, but it will be another one of Netflix’s numerous original projects based on novels such as the upcoming To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before sequel and the adaptation of Rebecca with Armie Hammer and Lily James.
