A new trailer for Kraven The Hunter has been released. This will mark the first time the comic book character has been on the big screen, but he won’t be facing off against Spider-Man. Kraven The Hunter falls in line with the Venom films, Morbius, and Madame Web, coming from Sony and serving as a standalone story for the comic character that won’t connect to Spider-Man. Kraven The Hunter follows a young man with expert tracking skills. But when something comes across his path that his skills can’t match, he must find a way to hunt his ultimate game.
Despite the film not featuring a version of Spider-Man for Kraven to go up against, the trailer still promises others from Spidey’s rogue gallery, even including The Rhino, making his first appearance since 2014’s Amazing Spider-Man 2. Deadline pointed out that the upcoming film will have an R-rating attached to it, with the trailer already promising more violence than previous films.
Aaron Taylor-Johnson leads the cast playing the titular Kraven. He’s appeared in a Marvel film before, playing Quicksilver in Avengers: Age Of Ultron. He also played in Bullet Train, The Fall Guy, and Gareth Edwards’ Godzilla. The rest of the cast for Kraven is filled out by Russell Crowe, Ariana DeBose, Fred Hechinger, Alessandro Nicola, and Christopher Abbot.
Credits for writing the script are split three ways, between Art Marcum and Matt Holloway, who worked on Iron Man and Uncharted, alongside Richard Wenk, who wrote the Equalizer trilogy.
Kraven The Hunter comes out on December 13. Check out the trailer below.
