‘Brad’s Status’ Trailer Starring Ben Stiller

The trailer for the upcoming Ben Stiller (The Secret Life of Walter Mitty) film Brad’s Status has just hit the internet. Stiller will be acting as father who is embarking on trip to complete college interviews and tours with his son, played by Austin Abrams (Paper Towns).

For a lot of parents, this is a poignant and often terrifying experience, and unfortunately Stiller’s character will experience both internal and external stressors: trying to accept that soon his son will be leaving; the natural exhaustion that comes with visiting a college campus to determine someone’s future; and the reappearance of old college friends whose immense successes ultimately cause Stiller’s character to question his own path in life.

It’s an interesting concept: showing a father in crisis in the middle of his life, just as his son is about define his own future. While these are heavy issues, the film also promises to add a degree of comedy, which will hopefully make the film both complex and appealing.

Stiller will be costarring with actors such as Jenna Fischer (The Office), Luke Wilson (The Royal Tenenbaums), Mike White (Beatriz at Dinner), Jemaine Clement (What We Do in the Shadows), and Michael Sheen (Midnight in Paris).

Housed at Amazon Studios, the film was also written and directed by White. The trailer can be viewed below.

Brad’s List will be released on September 15, 2017.
