“Replicants are like any other machine, they’re either a benefit or a hazard- If they’re a benefit it’s not my problem.”
The first teaser for the highly anticipated sequel to Ridley Scott’s 1982 Sci-Fi hit Blade Runner has been released. It’s been a long wait for fans of the original, and director Denis Villeneuve alongside producer Ridley Scott have given us just a small glimpse of what’s in store for us – including some reminiscent visuals.
While there isn’t much to go off of, we do know Blade Runner 2049 takes place thirty years after the events of the original and stars Ryan Gosling as LAPD Officer K, the new blade runner. It seems he has brought to light devastating secret that could potentially destroy what’s left of their society. With this knowledge, K must track down former blade runner, Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford) who has been missing for the last thirty years.
The film is set to be released October 6, 2017, so we can expect to see a lot more footage as time goes on. The film also stars Ana de Armas, Robin Wright, Jared Leto, Barkhad Abdi, Lennie James, Mackenzie Davis, and Sylvia Hoeks.
