Billie Lourd Joins Olivia Wilde’s ‘Booksmart’

As reported by Deadline, Billie Lourd, daughter of Carrie Fisher and star of Scream Queens, is joining the cast of Booksmart. The movie, which is the feature-film directorial debut for Olivia Wilde, revolves around two overachieving high schoolers who realize that they’re about to graduate without hooking up with their boy-crushes. On prom night, they set out to make up for lost time by cramming years of lost fun into one unforgettable night.

Booksmart is written by Emily Halpern, Sarah Haskins, and Katie Silberman. Filming is currently taking place in Los Angeles, California. The cast, along with Lourd, includes Kaitlyn Dever, Skyler Gisondo, and Beanie Feldstein.

Lourd made her TV acting debut in Scream Queens as Chanel #3 on Ryan Murphy’s horror-comedy anthology series. She went on to play Lieutenant Connix in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and then reprised the role in Star Wars: The Last Jedi. She also joined the cast of Murphy’s American Horror Story anthology TV series in 2017.

Christopher Aanerud: I graduated from the University of Georgia with an English degree. I enjoy watching movies and TV shows, playing video games, singing badly to pop songs in the car, eating delicious food, and drinking fine alcoholic beverages. I play basketball when my crippling knee and back pain allows, and I try to hit the gym on a regular basis. I have a son and a sugar glider, and when I'm not combing the internet for breaking news I am likely traveling or riding my Razor scooter.
