Bill Murray Hints He’s in ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’

There are fewer and fewer Hollywood stars who don’t succumb to the power of superhero movies in general and the Marvel Cinematic Universe in particular. It doesn’t matter that academics still don’t like awarding films with people in tights; the genre continues to conquer the big screen time and time again, and consequently, attract the very best of La La Land.

The last to join one of these productions has been Bill Murray. The actor has revealed that he will appear in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, the third solo adventure of Paul Rudd’s hero. As reported by Deadline, Murray announced the news during an interview for the German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine.

The interviewer asked the actor about his fondness for working several times with the same director, since Murray is currently promoting The French Dispatch, his ninth collaboration with Wes Anderson. The actor surprised him by replying that he had recently taken part in a Marvel movie.

“Some people were quite surprised why I decided on such a project. But for me the thing was quite clear: I got to know the director – and really liked him very much. He was funny, humble, everything you want from a director,” Murray explained. “And with the cheerleader story Bring It On he made a movie years ago which I think is damn good. So I agreed, although I’m not interested in these huge comic book adaptations as an actor otherwise.”

Brint It On was directed by Peyton Reed, whose last three projects have been Ant-ManAnt-Man and the Wasp and the upcoming Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, set for release in 2023. Thus, everything indicates that we will see Murray in the third installment of the Marvel saga, although we doubt he will do it again: “Now I’ve at least tried out what it’s like to shoot a Marvel movie. But I don’t think I need that experience a second time.”
