‘Better Watch Out’ Trailer Changes a Silent Night to a Creepy Thriller

Christmas always has a huge variety of movies connected to it and many have become film classics — some may be more of a comedy film, like A Christmas Story and Elf, while others take a more serious tone, like A Christmas Carol. The horror genre has now delved into the holiday season, like Krampus, and Better Watch Out looks to follow in its footsteps with this creepy trailer.

While the trailer is quite short and only shows a small snippet of what is to come, enough happens that we can gauge what is going on. Ashley, played by Olivia DeJonge (The Visit), is in peril as she is being chased some person. The film focuses on Ashley and the boy she is taking care of named Luke, played by Levi Miller (Pan, Jasper Jones). They are suddenly ambushed by a group of house invaders, and Ashley must do her best to defend the boy and the house.

The film has a strong supporting cast, including Dacre Montgomery (Power Rangers, Stranger Things), Virginia Madsen (Sideways, The Haunting in Connecticut), and Patrick Warburton (The Emperor’s New Groove, Family Guy). The film is being directed by Chris Peckover and written by Zack Kahn.

We better not cry, because Better Watch Out will release on October 6.
