Do you remember the rules to surviving in a zombie apocalypse? If not, don’t fret because Zombieland 2 is on its way to help you remember. For those of you that don’t know, Zombieland 2 is the upcoming sequel to the excellent Zombieland, a magnificent blend of humor, gore, heart and of course, zombies. Directed by Ruben Fleischer, the film starred Jesse Eisenberg (The Social Network), Woody Harrelson (Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri), Emma Stone (La La Land), and Abigail Breslin (Little Miss Sunshine) and received critical praise.
Zombieland 2 has Fleischer and all the original cast returning along with some fresh faces to conquer and survive a zombie-filled America. Deadline just announced the latest actor to join the cast, Avan Jogia. Jogia starred in the TV series Victorious, Ghost Warriors and Twisted. Deadline reveals that Jogia’s character in Zombieland 2 is similar to that of bad boy musician and could possibly become a rival love interest. He will be joining another recent addition to the cast, Zoey Deutch. The two previously acted together in Year of Spectacular Men.
The film will follow the original group fighting across the White House to the heartland of the US. The zombies from the first film have evolved with new human enemies arising as they deal with the growing pains of their makeshift family.
The writers of Zombieland 2 also have a very promising track record. Paul Wernick (Deadpool, Deadpool 2, Life), Rhett Reese (Zombieland, Deadpool, Deadpool 2, Life) and Dave Callaham (The Expendables 2, Godzilla). Although no specific date has been given, Zombieland 2 is set to release in 2019. Hopefully it be able to uphold the high standards set by its predecessor.
