Avan Jogia (Victorious) and model/skateboarder Ajani Russell (Betty) join Megan Fox and frontman of alt-rock band The All-American Rejects, Tyson Ritter, in crime thriller Johnny & Clyde, a remake of the famous crime duo Bonnie & Clyde.
Johnny and Clyde will be a fresh new take on the classic crime story of Bonnie and Clyde. The director behind Vault, Tom DeNucci, will direct the thriller with Chad A. Verdi from Verdi Productions to executive produce the film.
The plot revolves around the two eponymous serial murderers, who are madly in love and on an endless crime rampage. They plan to steal a rich casino controlled by criminal boss Alana (Fox) and her head of security (Ritter).
Vanessa Angel (Californication), Bai Ling (Lords of Dogtown), Robert LaSardo (The Mule), Armen Garo (Café Society), Sean Ringgold (American Gangster), Nick Principe (Vault), Brett Azar (Terminator: Dark Fate), and Sydney Jenkins (Don’t Look Up) are also starring in the crime thriller.
“The roles of Johnny and Clyde were the last pieces of the puzzle needed. The interest in this film from distributors is mind-blowing. This is the most diverse cast I have ever put together. The energy that Avan and Ajani are bringing to the table is exciting,” said Verdi.
Jogia is best known for his work on Nickelodeon TV series Victorious and Freeformer TV series Twisted. Jogia can be seen next in the horror film Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City, which is expected to hit theaters on Nov. 24 and stars Kaya Scodelario, Tom Hopper, and Robbie Amell.
Russell is best known for her role as Indigo in the 2018 Sundance film Skate Kitchen (based on a true story), in which she also plays the same character on the HBO Max series Betty, a series adaptation of the movie Skate Kitchen.
Johnny & Clyde is currently in production.
