As stated by Screenrant, Arrival will be getting Blu-ray release for the 10th anniversary that will premiere on September 8. The SteelBook includes an illustration of the alien’s spacecraft, Ian and Louise communicating with the aliens on the corridor and Louise looking at one of their smoky symbols that is assumed to be their language via the Blu-ray website.
Arrival was based on the novella Story of Your Life by Ted Chiang as the film adaptation was released in 2016. The film stars Jeremy Runner (Hawkeye, The Avengers), Amy Adams (Enchanted, Man of Steel), Forest Whitaker (Godfather of Harlem, Black Panther), Michael Stuhlbarg (Call Me by Your Name, The Shape of Water), Tzi Ma (Rush Hour, Mulan), Abigail Pniowsky (Wait Till Helen Comes, Ten Days in the Valley), Mark O’ Brien (Ready or Not, How It Ends), Jadyn Malone (Mommy’s Little Boy, A Daughter’s Revenge) and more.
The sci-fi/thriller film was nominated for eight Oscars, which won for Achievement in Sound Editing and received $203.3 million in the box office against its $47 million budget. The story centers around professor Louise Banks and physicist Ian Donnelly who were asked by the U.S. army to attempt to solve communication with recently- arrived aliens who crash landed on Earth and work alongside each other to solve the symbols.
Arrival can be streamed on Pluto TV and Paramount+.
