Apple TV+ has extended its first-look deal with Oscar-nominated producer Kevin Walsh, allowing his production company, The Walsh Company, to continue creating original films and series for the streaming platform. This renewed partnership highlights Walsh’s increasing influence at Apple after delivering successful projects like The Instigators and Napoleon.
The Instigators, which became the most-watched movie on Apple TV+, and Ridley Scott’s Napoleon were two key films produced under Walsh’s previous deal. His upcoming Apple original film, Echo Valley, is set to release next year. Directed by Michael Pearce and starring Julianne Moore and Sydney Sweeney, Echo Valley is a thriller based on an original screenplay by Brad Ingelsby and co-produced by Scott Free Films.
Beyond Echo Valley, Walsh is reportedly discussing a potential sequel to The Instigators with Apple. The project could reunite director Doug Liman, co-writers Casey Affleck and Chuck MacLean and Artists Equity partners Matt Damon and Ben Affleck.
Walsh has several other projects in the pipeline, including Miss You, Love You, a drama directed by Jim Rash, which is expected to debut at Sundance next year. Allison Janney and Andrew Rannells star in the film, with Walsh co-producing alongside Academy Award winner Nat Faxon and Madison Wells Media.
In a statement, Walsh expressed his gratitude for his ongoing relationship with Apple.
“Apple has given me a home to keep doing what I truly love — producing movies and supporting the filmmakers behind them with everything I’ve got,” Walsh said. He praised Apple’s leadership, adding, “The opportunity that lies ahead for Apple, one of the most successful and innovative companies in the world, cannot be understated.”
With a small but effective team, including Director of Development Liz Lippman and Creative Executive Patrick McNamara, Walsh’s company continues to make a significant impact. The Walsh Company has also expanded into advertising, collaborating with Apple TV+, Dunkin’ and Artists Equity on branded promotions for The Instigators.
Walsh’s career in Hollywood is well-established, with past credits including Manchester by the Sea, House of Gucci and The Last Duel. His deal with Apple comes after his tenure as president of Ridley Scott’s Scott Free Productions, positioning him as a key figure in Apple’s slate of original content.
