Amazon Drops ‘Borat’ Sequel Trailer and Confirms October Premiere Date

Amazon and Sacha Baron Cohen just debuted the full-length trailer of Borat: Subsequent Moviefilm Delivery of Prodigious Once Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan. Baron Cohen returns to the title role as his most iconic character, Borat Sagdiyev, a bumbling Kazakh journalist, who inserts himself into awkward and often dangerous scenarios in heartland America to get Americans to open up about their worst impulses on camera.

Sources told Deadline’s Mike Fleming that Baron Cohen had to wear a bulletproof vest on two different days, and there were many risky scenarios during the secret pandemic-ear shoot.

Baron Cohen tweeted this morning, “Jagshemash. If you see only one moviefilm this year, please see the only one that got made – mine.” Baron Cohen was in a hurry to get the filmed released before Election Day on November 3. The first film generated $262 million worldwide for Fox, making it a big success.

Jason Woliner directed the film; the screenplay is credited to Baron Cohen, Anthony Hines, Dan Swimer, Peter Baynham, Erica Rivionja, Dan Mazer, Jena Friedman, and Lee Kern. Amazon Prime Video will premiere Borat 2 on October 23.

Borat is considered to be one of the best comedies ever made, so it will be interesting to see how this sequel will ultimately land to viewers.

I want to write something outside the normal, something no one would think to write about in a unique way. It also shows how far I am willing to go to produce something amazing that will get more readers interested in the world of Journalism. I am on my way to making a professional life for myself.
