Micheal B. Jordan’s latest film, Without Remorse, is among the highly anticipated theatrical releases being being pushed back to accommodate for social distancing precautions. This news comes in the wake of Sony moving Venom: Let There Be Carnage from Oct. 2 to June 25, 2021. The spy-thriller is slated for release on Oct. 2 of this year, two weeks after it’s original release date of Sept. 18.
Without Remorse stars Jordan as John Kelly, a Navy SEAL turned CIA-ops officer who avenges his wife’s murder only to find himself trapped inside a larger conspiracy. The highly anticipated film is a big-screen adaption of Tom Clancy’s famous novel of the same name and details the original story of John Kelly, who later in Clancy’s novels, serves as Jack Ryan’s bodyguard.
Stefano Sollima is set to direct the film with Taylor Sheridan adapting the book. The two are working alongside a cast of Brett Gelman, Jodie Turner-Smith, Jamie Bell, Jacob Scipio, Jack Kesy, Todd Lasance, Luke Mitchell, and Cam Gigandet. The new early October release date will coincide with Aaron Sorkin’s The Trial of the Chicago 7 and Universal’s Tom Hanks sci-fi feature Bios.
Until then, those still interested in Clancy’s adaptations can catch the first two seasons of Jack Ryan on Amazon. The show stars John Krasinski (The Office, A Quiet Place) as the titular CIA analyst.
