‘Addams Family’ Sequel Set To Come Out in October 2021

After the success of the 2019 reboot of The Addams Family, it seems likely a sequel was expected to happen. Fortunately, we now know that everyone’s favorite freaky and spooky family are indeed coming back as it was announced that The Addams Family 2 is set for release in October of 2021.

During the announcement, they also released the first poster for the film featuring Wednesday Adams being front and center with the caption, “A Sequel, How Original” to emphasize the sarcastic nature this character is known for. Not much has been announced regarding the film’s plot but it expected to have the original cast return including Chloe Grace Moretz as Wednesday, Finn Wolfhard as Pugsley, Charlize Theron as Morticia and Oscar Isaac as Gomez to name a few. Conrad Vernon and Greg Tiernan are also returning to direct the upcoming sequel.

While the film’s production is still under wrapped in terms of particular plot details for the sequel, there definitely have been some plans for it since the popularity and hype behind the new movie surfaced. In fact Tiernan mentioned what they would want to do for a sequel by stating, “With any sequel like that you’ve got to move the characters forward and try and explore some new territory with them.” While the new film saw mixed received by fans and critics, a sequel could improve upon the original and give fans an even better spooky romp with these characters than the first film had to offer.

The Adams Family 2 is set for release October 22, 2021.

Ryan Pineda: When it comes to film, animation, video games and other mediums, I can discuss for hours about how much on why certain films and animated media made me the person I am today. I adore the artistic merit that comes from a lot of pop-culture media and will definitely love to have a conversation about favorite movies any day! I have graduated in 2017 with a BA in Film and Television at the University of Arizona. Been passionate about writing about films due to always having an interesting outlook on the medium. Will always see a film and will definitely be sure to recommend it to someone that I know for a fact would love that movie. Not only that but will also give reasons for why I think that film did or did not work as a movie, and the same can go for other pieces of media like television, video games and especially animated projects.
