Adam Lambert and Queen Kick Off the Oscars

Though there is no host for this year’s Oscars, the ceremony is off with a bang thanks to a performance by Queen honoring Bohemian Rhapsody and Freddie Mercury.  Original Queen members Roger Taylor and Brian May were accompanied by Adam Lambert for the performance, all working together seamlessly.

Bohemian Rhapsody is nominated for Best Picture, Editing, Sound Mixing, and Sound Editing. Lead actor Rami Malek is in the running for Best Actor and is one of the top contenders after winning the SAG Award, Golden Globe, and BAFTA.

There will be more musical performances throughout the evening by Lady Gaga, Bette Midler, Jennifer Hudson, and Gillian Welch and David Rawlings, all nominees for Best Original Song.

Stay tuned for more Oscars news as we cover the event live and check out our recaps at the end of the night to see if your favorites take home the biggest awards of the year.
