The darkly comedic action film titled Snow Ponies is already stacking up an impressive cast with The Punisher‘s Jon Bernthal, American Horror Story‘s Evan Peters, indie breakout Charlie Plummer (Lean On Pete), and Disney actor Josh Gad (Beauty and the Beast). Deadline first reported the news.
These four actors will be amongst a group of seven hardened men in the film who are tasked with delivering a mysterious package across a dangerous landscape. The script, written by Pat Healy (The Post), was part of the 2006 Blacklist.
Darrin Prescott, second unit director on such films as Baby Driver and Deadpool 2, will be directing. He is reuniting with Deadpool collaborators David Leitch and Chad Stahelski, who are serving as financiers under their 87eleven banner. EntertainmentOne and Nickel City Pictures are also financing.
Bernthal will next be seen in Widows, while Peters will be reprising his role as Quicksilver in Dark Phoenix. Plummer will be out with The Clovehitch Killer and Gully, and Gad will be heard in Frozen 2 and seen in Artemis Fowl.
