A24 Signs New Deal With Warner Bros Discovery And Max

Warner Bros. Discovery and independent studio A24 have announced a multiyear deal that made Warner Bros. Discovery’s HBO, Cinemax, and Max the exclusive home for A24’s upcoming theatrical film slate in the U.S. The agreement covers both new releases, such as Sofia Coppola’s Priscilla and Jonathan Glazer’s The Zone of Interest. The new contract will also make past A24 titles like Kwan and Scheinert’s Everything Everywhere All at Once, Aronofsky’s The Whale, and the Safdie Brothers’ Uncut Gems exclusively available on the streaming platform.

The deal does not just cover past A24 films, as upcoming projects like Dicks: The Musical, Stop Making Sense, and The Iron Claw will also be available.

Warner Bros Discovery audiences “will have access to more than one hundred A24 titles over the term of the agreement.”

Max previously made a deal with A24 that brought over two dozen A24 titles to Max in August 2022. Royce Battleman, the Executive Vice President of content acquisitions for Warner Bros. Discovery, said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter, “Continuing our relationship with A24 to bring award-winning movies alongside recent fan-favorites to subscribers adds incredible value to the HBO and Max value proposition. The diverse range of stories that come from the A24 pipeline makes this partnership so impactful for our audience.”
