A Break-in Turns into Something More Sinister in ‘Fatale’

Security is a big things these days and it’s better to be safe than sorry, so when an intruder breaks into your home it can be quite an ordeal. But that the least of a man’s worries in Fatale. The film stars Michael Ealy as Derrick, a happily married man who ended up engaging in a one-night stand with a woman he met at a bar one night. Sounds innocent enough until its revealed that the same woman is the detective that’s assigned to the break-in case at Derrick’s home! If that doesn’t like enough problems it appears that this detective is going to do whatever she can to make Derrick’s life a living hell.

Hilary Swank plays Detective Valerie Quinlan and she sets her sights on Derrick and keeping him on ice. The film is written by David Loughery who previously worked with the film’s director Deon Taylor in The Intruder just last year. The supporting cast includes Mike Colter, Geoffrey Owens, Damaris Lewis, Danny Pino, David Hoflin, Sam Daly, Tyrin Turner and Kali Hawk. The film will be distributed by Lionsgate and is scheduled to be released in theaters on December 18. It was originally scheduled to be released in June of this year but was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Rick Rice: A kid at heart who has loved watching movies from a very young age. Credit must be given to Siskel and Ebert whose film reviews educated me on the world of film inspired me to become a writer myself. I love to read books that range from various topics, copious amounts of research is something that excites me and of course sitting in a movie theater is a highlight of my life. When I'm not watching movies or reading I enjoy listening to foreign music and working hard on finishing my short stories. Currently working on my degree in English with a plan to enroll into Film School with the dream of becoming a screenwriter and director.
