The seventh film in The Fast and the Furious franchise will officially be titled Furious 7. Any speculation surrounding the name probably stems from the series’ lack of consistency with its titles. The first film was titled The Fast and the Furious; the sequel went for a (clever?) play on words (numbers?) with 2 Fast 2 Furious; the third dropped the number and added the subtitle: Tokyo Drift; the fourth opted to lose the numbers and the “the’s” making it simply Fast & Furious; the fifth then lost “Furious” but found the number, thus we have Fast Five; the sixth seemed to have found “Furious,” thus Fast & Furious 6, but now “Fast” has been lost with the latest installment. In addition to the name, a “Trailer Launch Event” has been announced on the film’s Facebook page. The event will take place November 1st, at Universal Studios in Los Angeles.
