The Golden Globes, one of the most prestigious film and television award ceremonies, is, as Deadline put it, “embarking on a new era” following Dick Clark Productions now owning the company. On Thursday the new board of directors was announced, along with the timeline for the 2024 award show.
The nominations for the 2024 awards, which are set to take place on January 7th, will be announced on December 11th of this year. Along with this, there are still discussions taking place about the broadcaster for the show, after NBC’s deal with the show ended after the 2023 ceremony. Deadline notes that an announcement with the broadcaster deal should be made by early October. They also state that it is likely for the ceremony to take place at the Beverly Hilton, just like it has in the past.
The 2023 Golden Globes were the first awards since 2021 following backlash of the organization’s lack of diversity among its members. There was a reform and restructuring following the 2023 ceremony. The new board members announced for this restructure include the Golden Globe’s president Helen Hoehne, along with Tim Gray, Judy Lung, Neil Phillips, Javier Porta Fouz, Gerardo Prat, Elisabeth Sereda, and Barbaros Tapan. There is still one more member to be announced for the 9-person board.
