Many fans of Christopher Columbus’s popular movie series Home Alone are calling for Donald Trump’s cameo in Home Alone 2: Lost in New York to be removed. The movie which is of course a direct sequel to the first Home Alone movie came out in 1992, long before Trump even considered running for president.
In this sequel movie the protagonist Kevin McCallister is once again separated from his family on Christmas, but instead of being left behind at home he is stranded in New York City. At one point in the movie Kevin wanders into the Plaza Hotel where he runs into Donald Trump. Kevin asks Trump where the lobby is, and Trump responds, “Down the hall and to the left,” which is actually incorrect.
To say that Trump is a controversial figure would be an extreme understatement, especially after the recent terrorist assault on Capitol Hill this month. Now according to Screen Rant Macaulay Culkin, who played Kevin, has expressed his agreement with Home Alone fans about removing Trump’s cameo from the movie. Fans of the movie have released edits online that remove Trump from the scene. Inside Magic reports that some fans are petitioning for Disney to replace Trump with Biden.
In 2019 a Canadian television broadcast of the movie aired that removed Trump’s cameo from the movie. One of Trump’s sons was upset by this edit. At this time is unknown if the studio will go through with removing Trump from the movie, but whatever decision gets made we at least won’t have to hear Trump’s reaction to it on Twitter!
