From the producers of Aquaman and Medellin, comes the new trailer for Hyde starring Vincent Chase. And while, sure…none of that is actually real, the new trailer for Entourage is. That film reunites the cast of the popular HBO series – Adrian Grenier (The Devil Wears Prada), Kevin Connolly (Reach Me), Kevin Dillon (Compulsion), Jerry Ferrara (Lone Survivor), Jeremy Piven (Sin City: A Dame to Kill For) – with its series creator, Doug Ellin, who wrote and directed Entourage.
The trailer starts with the aforementioned faux-trailer Hyde, but that just serves as the set-up and basis for the film, picking up a lot of the pieces the show left off on, including Ari (Piven) running his own studio with Vincent Chase (Grenier) set to star and direct in a film for Ari that could prove to be a huge risk.
The film carries the same lavish tone that helped the show excel in highlighting the vanities and decadence of Hollywood, with Vincent and company cruising in fast cars and partying on fancy yachts. And as always, Entourage boasts a few cameos, with Billy Bob Thornton (The Judge) and Haley Joel Osment (Tusk) playing a father and son with an investment in Chase’s film. It also sees Mark Wahlberg (The Gambler), longtime producer of the series (and film) appear as himself. Music producer and DJ Calvin Harris is also an expected cameo in the film. Although he’s not shown in the trailer, the nifty pseudo-poster for Hyde hints at his involvement.
Entourage will be Doug Ellin’s first feature film since 1998’s Kissing a Fool, as he’s spent most of his career in television since then. Warner Bros. has slated Entourage for release on June 5th, 2015, an indication that the studio does expect the film to produce numbers. The last series-inspired features from HBO, Sex and the City (2008) and Sex and the City 2 (2010), had similar early summer release dates and did well at the box office.
