UTA, still coming off of the recent acquisition of UK talent agency Curtis Brown, is opening up a brand new office in London, looking to expand further.
The office itself is a modest space, with 28,000 square feet between 2 floors, and it’s set to be populated with plenty of representatives from United Talent Agency. A lot of the reps will be for the music branch, but will have some scattered throughout for comedy, production arts, podcasting, etc., with the final headcount rounding out to around 100. The building itself is just a few blocks from the Curtis Brown offices, and will be co-led by Neil Warnock and Obi Asika.
Jeremy Zimmer, one of the co-founders and current CEO of UTA, said, “London is one of the world’s great cultural and commercial centers, and this expansion reflects UTA’s growing investment in bringing UK and European clients more opportunities to make an impact around the world.” Since 2015, UTA has had a presence in London, but not to the extent they have now, when they acquired UK based The Agency Group.
UTA faced a series of setbacks to it’s staff, felt by everywhere due to the WGA strike. UTA president David Kramer said that he didn’t expect the impact of the strike to lead to a change in staffing: “If the strike continues for a long time we may have to think about curbing expenses but that’s not a concern now. We were happy to see the DGA come to a provisional agreement and we hope agreements with SAG and WGA will follow soon.”
UTA currently reps countless stars, such as Johnny Depp and Ben Stiller, and hopes to gain more footing internationally with this addition of a new office.
