The year was 1999 and the month was March when The Matrix first arrived in cinemas and it turned into a surprise hit. While the world was embracing the new idea of the internet and virtual reality, The Matrix tapped into those ideas and even made some of us question what was real and what wasn’t. It’s been eighteen years since the release of The Matrix Revolutions and now that Resurrections is less than a month away, it has been announced that the one that started it all will be releasing in select theaters across the country. This will be the first time ever that The Matrix will be playing on IMAX screens. The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions were released in IMAX but this will mark the debut of the original film on that screen. It will be only a two-day special showing so it’s better to order your tickets as soon as you can! The showtimes will be on December 7 and December 8 respectively.
