Deadline has been the first to learn that Emmett/Furla Films Co-CEO Randall Emmett and Emile Hirsch have developed The Fortress as a trilogy that Jesse Metcalfe (John Tucker Must Die), Chad Michael Murray (One Tree Hill), Kelly Greyson (Alone yet Not Alone), and Bruce Willis are on board to join the films. James Cullen Bressack (Beyond the Law) will be directing the first two films of the trilogy.
The trilogy’s first installment has already begun filming in Puerto Rico, and the Emmett/Furla Films has planned to shoot the installments back-to-back, with the third film planning to be shot sometime at a later date.
The film, written by Alan Horsnail (Midnight in the Switchgrass), circles a top-secret retreat for retired U.S. intelligence officers. Balzary (Murray) leads a group of criminals to break into the resort, intent on exacting vengeance on Robert (Willis), forcing him and his son (Metcalfe) to save the day.
Bressack is currently working on directing the action thriller Killing Field for Emmett/Furla Films about a man’s life on his farm that is disrupted when a cop and two violent criminals arrive.
Willis is working on multiple films for Emmett/Furla Films, including Killing Field, Midnight in the Switchgrass, and Out of Death.
Metcalfe is currently filming the drama The Latin from Manhattan, about the wild, exhilarating life of iconic adult film star Vanessa Del Rio.
Murray is also currently filming with Willis in Killing Field.
Greyson has finished filming the thriller Gym Rat, about a fitness fanatic fresh out of jail with dreams of being the next Mr. Olympia.
