Zack Snyder Says His ‘Justice League’ Cut Will Be a Film, Not a Series

It’s been almost a year since we first caught wind of Zack Snyder’s official director’s cut of the 2017 DC Superhero film Justice League. The original film was finished by Joss Whedon under Warner Bros’ supervision after Snyder left the director’s seat due to a family tragedy. 

After the film received negative criticism and calls for a cut done by Snyder, Warner Bros announced early last year that a 4 hour Snyder cut was indeed in the works and that it would release on HBO Max in a 4 or 5 episodic miniseries format. Now, Snyder says that, instead of a miniseries, the cut will release as a singular film, but it’s still unclear if Warner Bros and HBO Max are on board with Snyder’s recent comments. 

New information about the cut has surfaced recently, including Harry Lennix confirming that he would appear in Snyder’s cut as The Martian Manhunter, a member of the Justice League, and Jared Leto recently saying that he was able to “revisit the Joker,” with Snyder as reshoots were happening. After the recent drama surrounding Ray Fisher and his future as Cyborg, it seems he was never able to make it for the reshoots. 

Snyder teased that an official poster is on the way, which will have whatever the official title is going to be, since, for legal reasons, the film won’t be called Zack Snyder’s Justice League.
