Zach Snyder Releases Image of J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon in ‘Justice League’

The citizens of Gotham City frequently witness the night sky light up when Batman is needed most. This weekend that beacon of hope shined on Batman Day. In honor of the Caped Crusader, directed Zach Snyder released the first image of Commissioner Gordon in his upcoming Justice League, to be portrayed by Oscar winner J.K. Simmons (Whiplash), standing next to the infamous bat-signal.

Synder also posted a picture of himself standing in front of the iconic searchlight.

Recently, Simmons has been seen hitting the gym hard in preparation for this role. While this role may only play a small part in Justice League, Simmons’ hopes his character will be featured in Ben Affleck‘s upcoming solo Batman film as well.

These are not the only images circulating around the web for Justice League. In case you missed it, last week Snyder also teased us with a photo of Batman in his new tactical suit, which can be seen below.

Justice League is set to be released November 17, 2017.
