Zoe Lister-Jones (Life in Pieces, How It Ends) is set to star in Zach Braff’s A Good Person at MGM. The film was directed and written by Braff.
Lister-Jones will play Simone, a hardened AA veteran with an earthy, decent spirit in the film. She’s seen it all and has battled addiction and sadness. She’s a tough girl, streetwise, tattooed, and affectionate, but she doesn’t take crap from anyone. She is married and has a two-year-old child.
A Good Person follows Allison (Florence Pugh) as her life falls apart when she is involved in a deadly accident. In the years that follow, the unexpected friendship she develops with her would-be father-in-law (Morgan Freeman) eventually leads to her enjoying a life worth living.
Lister-Jones is set to star next in Ari Aster’s upcoming drama-horror-comedy Disappointment Blvd, which also stars Joaquin Phoenix and Stephen McKinley Henderson. Her latest film, How It Ends, which she directed and wrote with Daryl Wein, premiered virtually at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and was shared a couple of months later at this year’s SXSW Film Festival. Lister-Jones also wrote and directed The Craft: Legacy for Columbia and Blumhouse, which is now available on Hulu for streaming.
A Good Person has already started filming.
