‘Wolfcop’ Will be Sold at Cannes

Did you ever see a movie about a hard-drinking, hard-nosed cop on the edge and think, “That nose would look pretty awesome if it was a wolf’s nose?” Did you go on to think it would be even more awesome if the cop’s other parts were wolf-like? Well then Canada has just the film for you: Wolfcop. What’s that? Don’t live in Canada? That may not be a problem, now that Twitchfilm is reporting Raven Banner Entertainment has acquired the rights to sell Wolfcop worldwide – which they plan to do at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival

It’s not unusual for alcoholic cop Lou Garou to black out and wake up in unfamiliar surroundings, but lately things have taken a strange turn. Crime scenes seem oddly familiar. Lou’s senses are heightened, and when the full moon is out, he’s a rage-fueled werewolf. WOLFCOP is one cop’s quest to become a better man…one transformation at a time.

Newcomer Leo Fafard stars as Lou, with a cast of other native Canadian actors, including Amy Matysio, Jonathan Cherry, Sarah Lind, and Jesse Moss. Lowell Dean wrote and directed Wolfcop, and the studio CineCoup Film Accelerator serves as the producer.

“Half Cop. Half Wolf. All Wolfcop.”

The film’s official trailer promises tons of gore, a good helping of laughs, and a decent amount of practical effects – for anyone who’s sick of CGI werewolves.

The 2014 Cannes Film Festival will take place from May 14th to May 25th.
