Buddy the Elf is coming to save the Democratic Party!

On Dec. 13 at 4 p.m. ET, the cast of Elf  Will Ferrell, Zooey Deschanel, Bob Newhart (The Bob Newhart Show), Edward Asner (Up), Mary Steenburgen (Happiest Season), Amy Sedaris (Puss in Boots), Andy Richter (Conan), Kyle Gass (Shallow Hal), John Lithgow (Bombshell), Danny Woodburn (Seinfeld), Jon Favreau (of “Pod Save America”), Ed Helms (Lorax), Busy Philipps (Busy Tonight) and Matt Walsh (Veep) will be having a live table reading of the film that will be hosted by comedian Ashley Nicole Black.

The reunion will serve as a fundraiser for the Democratic Party of Georgia in an effort to help Democrats Jon Ossoff and Rev. Raphael Warnock in the Jan. 5 Senate runoff elections. Ossoff and Warnock, if elected, can change the Senate to a Democratic majority.

Ferrell and his wife are longtime Democratic supporters, “I’m excited to bring Buddy back to the small screen to benefit the critical Senate runoff elections in Georgia. We need new leadership in the U.S. Senate, and I’m hoping that Buddy and the rest of the Elf cast can play a small role in delivering that change.”

Deschanel, who played Jovie, also expressed how excited she is for the fundraiser on Twitter.

“If I were any more excited to be in the #ElfForGeorgia reunion, I might explode into a burst of snowflakes. Join me, Will Ferrell, and many other amazing people from the original cast, along with some special guests for our live reading!”

Jason Esteves, treasurer of the Democratic Party of Georgia, expressed excitement by adding, “Elf is a holiday classic for families every year, and now, with this reunion on the eve of early voting in Georgia, it’s going to share warmth and joy and help more Georgia voters than ever before make their voices heard. This holiday season, Georgia Democrats know that the best way to spread holiday cheer will be voting loud for all to hear.”
