‘Wicked Part Two’ Release Date Gets Moved To November 2025

Broadway’s greatest hit, Wicked is getting an adaptation from Universal Pictures in an upcoming film Wicked Part One which is set to release on November 27, 2024. Universal Pictures Studios released that Wicked Part Two has been changed from its original release date which was set for December 2025, has now been changed to November 26, 2025.

Wicked is based on the bestselling novel by Gregory Maguire, which is about two young witches – Elphaba and Glinda. The musical explores girlhood and friendship as we see the story of the Wicked Witch and the Good Witch unfold. The novel was adapted to the Broadway stage by book writer Winnie Holzman and composer-lyricist Stephen Schwartz. The film is produced by Universal Stage Productions, Marc Platt, David Stone, the Araca Group, and Jon B. Platt. It is produced by Marc Platt and by Tony winner David Stone. The executive producers are David Nicksay, Stephen Schwartz, and Jared LeBoff.

Wicked Part One and Wicked Part Two will be directed by Jon M. Chu with Cynthia Ervio as Elphaba and Ariana Grande as Glinda.
