What’s Next For Christopher Nolan?

It was recently announced that Christopher Nolan would be directing his tenth feature film based on the Dunkirk evacuation, which took place at the beginning of World War II. Nolan penned the original screenplay, although not much else is known about the plot. Information has been released that Nolan is reuniting with several of his previous collaborators to help bring the film to life.

Interstellar cinematographer Hoyte Van Hoytema will assist with the visualization and Hans Zimmer has signed on to compose the score. This will be Nolan’s sixth collaboration with Zimmer and second with Hoytema. Tom Hardy (who previously co-starred in Nolan’s Inception and The Dark Knight Rises) is slated to play the lead with new information on cast and crew developing daily. Nolan is adamant about keeping specific details of his films under wraps, so the rest is left to speculation until more information is released.

Dunkirk is the true story of rescue mission to save 340,000 allied troops who were trapped by Nazis in northern France during World War II. Nolan is best known for directing the successful Dark Knight franchise. He recently directed the sci-fi thriller Interstellar. This is Nolan’s first attempt at directing a film based on an actual historical event. It will be interesting to see Nolan take on a much different style project than his popular blockbuster films.
