The planned limited release of the foodie dramedy Burnt is apparently off the table. The Weinstein Company had originally looked to launch the Bradley Cooper starrer in just a few markets on October 23, but has pulled back from that plan, most likely due to a crowded adult title field.
The film, starring Cooper (American Sniper) as a bad-boy chef looking to redeem his reputation, will now open wide on October 30th. It will face off against adult-skewing titles Steve Jobs, entering its second week of wide release after two-week limited run, and the Steven Spielberg cold war drama Bridge of Spies, entering week number three. Also hitting theaters on the 30th are Warner Bros’ political satire Our Brand Is Crisis, starring Sandra Bullock and Billy Bob Thornton and Paramount’s horror comedy Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse.
Despite Burnt‘s move off the October 23 date, there will still be plenty of new releases to keep moviegoers happy that weekend. The date is shared by the premiers of Open Road’s Bill Murray comedy Rock The Kasbah, Lionsgate’s The Last Witch Hunter, Universal/Blumhouse’s Jem And The Holograms and Paramount’s Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension.
