Paramount Pictures has released the second full trailer for Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation starring Tom Cruise (Edge of Tomorrow). The trailer highlights an already impossible mission for Ethan Hunt (Cruise) and the IMF team gone wrong. The movie follows the team as they discover an international rogue force intent on taking down the IMF.
Along with the film’s plot, the trailer also highlights many of its stunts, which Cruise performed himself, as he did for past entries in the series. Christopher McQuarrie (Jack Reacher) directed the film after Brad Bird (Tomorrowland) helmed the previous entry in the franchise, Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol. McQuarrie worked with Cruise on Jack Reacher and wrote the scripts for Edge of Tomorrow and Valkyrie, two other Cruise vehicles. Ed Zwick (Pawn Sacrifice) will take over for McQuarrie for the Jack Reacher sequel.
Simon Pegg (The World’s End), Jeremy Renner (Avengers: Age of Ultron), and Ving Rhames (Pulp Fiction) all return to their roles from the previous movie with Alec Baldwin (Aloha) and Rebecca Ferguson (Hercules) joining the cast. The movie is set for a wide release July 31.
