Ellen DeGeneres (Finding Nemo) debuted the teaser trailer for the animated sequel, Finding Dory, on her talk show last Thursday.
The trailer set up the plot for the film that will reunite DeGeneres as the forgetful fish Dory and the clownfish Marlin (Albert Brooks, A Most Violent Year) on a quest to find her family, voiced by Diane Keaton (5 Flights Up), Eugene Levy (American Reunion), Ed O’Neill (TV’s Modern Family), Ty Burrell (The Skeleton Twins), Idris Elba (TV’s Luther), Dominic West (TV’s The Affair) and Kaitlin Olson (TV’s It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia).
The trailer released one day after Disney revealed the poster yesterday. The trailer only revealed returning characters, Nemo, Marlin and Dory. While the trailer was in 2D, the film will be presented in 3D with Dory’s flashbacks presented in tradition 2D.
Recently released plot details revealing that Dory finds out she was born at the Marine Biology Institute of California, a rehab facility for marine life before she was freed at a young age.
Finding Dory is set to release June 17. You can watch the trailer below.
