Alchemy has released a trailer for the upcoming conspiracy thriller Survivor, which stars Milla Jovovich (Resident Evil), Pierce Brosnan (Goldeneye), and Dylan McDermott (Olympus Has Fallen). The movie follows Foreign Service officer (Jovovich) who, after trying to prevent a terrorist attack, is forced to go on the run from an assassin (Brosnan) when she’s framed for a crime she didn’t commit. Emma Thompson (Love Actually) and Robert Forster (Jackie Brown) also star.
Alchemy acquired the U.S. distribution rights for project late last month and will release the movie in limited theaters and on VOD services on May 29. The movie was directed by James McTeigue, who has experience working on material centered around conspiracies, as seen in his directorial debut, V for Vendetta (2005). Before taking the helm of that movie, McTeigue worked as an assistant director on a number of high-profile films, including The Matrix franchise.
Jovovich has a lot of projects coming up, including the Shakespeare adaptation Cymbeline and the adaptation of George R.R. Martin’s novel, In the Lost Lands. This will also be rare villain role for the former James Bond actor, Brosnan, who often plays the dashing hero. Brosnan also stars in the upcoming action movie No Escape opposite Owen Wilson.
