Watch Jason Segel as David Foster Wallace in the Trailer for ‘The End of the Tour’

A24 has released new trailer for the upcoming movie The End of the Tour that follows Rolling Stone reporter David Lipsky (Jesse EisenbergThe Social Network) as he joins writer David Foster Wallace (Jason Segel, Forgetting Sarah Marshall) at the end of the promotional tour for his 1996 novel Infinite Jest.

The movie premiered at the Sundance Film festival where it received critical acclaim, particularly for Segel’s performance as the renowned writer. The movie could be a big breakthrough for Segel, whose career has mainly consisted of somewhat goofy comedies up to this point. His co-star, Eisenberg, has been busy working across multiple genres of late and will be seen this year in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, Now You See Me: The Second Act, and an untitled Woody Allen film.

James Ponsoldt (Smashed) directed the The End of the Tour. It’s his first movie since his breakout hit, The Spectacular Now. He’s currently working on the sci-fi thriller The Circle starring Alicia Vikander (Ex Machina) and Tom Hanks (Inferno). The End of the Tour is also the first feature script from Donald Margulies, who previously worked in television.

The End of the Tour is set for a limited release on July 31, 2015. Check out the trailer below.
