Warner Brothers Shake up DC with New Production Team

Walter Hamada will now be overseeing the comic book movies for Warner Brothers, according to Variety.  Previously Hamada has been in charge of the New Line division of WB for over a decade since 2007 and is responsible for films including The Gallows as well as The Conjuring.

News of the promotion comes after the studio recently replaced both Jon Berg and Geoff Johns as heads of the DC movies.  Berg will now be partnered with Roy Lee, who helped produced both The Lego Movie as well as It.   Johns on the other hand will continue to remain as president and chief creative officer for DC for both the movie as well as TV  and comic book areas.

The current president and chief content officer Toby Emmerich, who was promoted in 2016 and worked closely with Hamada at New Line says he feels confident in the new shift with Hamada and Johns working together.

Despite the frustration over the DC and Marvel feud, the move comes from them trying to provide more quality control efforts in order to match up with their competitors, which surpassed with last year’s box office hit, Wonder Woman.
