Wagner Moura Set To Join Cast Of Bradley Cooper’s ‘Ocean’s Eleven’ For Warner Bros.

Wagner Moura in Kleber Mendonça Filho's 'The Secret Agent' (2025)

With Bradley Cooper set to direct the Warner Bros. Ocean’s Eleven prequel and star alongside Margot Robbie, the cast is set to add Wagner Moura to the fray.  Cooper will also be producing, alongside Robbie, through LuckyChap, and Tom Ackerley.

The prequel will be following up on Steven Soderbergh’s Ocean’s 11, 12, and 13, which followed Danny Ocean (George Clooney) as they pulled off elaborate heists around the globe.  Soderbergh’s Ocean’s Eleven featured an all-star cast of Clooney, Brad Pitt, Don Cheadle, Andy Garcia, Matt Damon, Julia Roberts, Casey Affleck, Scott Caan, and more.

The prequel will be set at the 1962 Monaco Grand Prix, with the hook being that Cooper and Robbie will play Clooney’s Danny Ocean’s parents.  It is said that Moura will be playing the villain in the upcoming film, continuing the tradition of major actors playing the antagonist in the franchise.  Moura is fresh off his critically acclaimed leading performance in The Secret Agent, a role that won him Best Actor at Cannes, Best Actor (drama) at the Golden Globes, and he was nominated for Best Actor at the Academy Awards.  The film was also nominated for Best Picture, Best Casting, and Best International Film at this year’s Academy Awards.

The prequel film is currently set for release on June 25, 2027.
