Now that it looks like Thor: Love and Thunder is moving ahead into production, more information is slowly coming to light. In an interview with Comicbook.com, Guardians actor Vin Diesel may have accidentally dropped some major information, namely that the Guardians of the Galaxy will be in the upcoming Thor sequel. The group all worked together with Thor in Avengers: Infinity War, when their plot lines wound together. Now it looks like the squad will be getting back together again, if what Diesel says is true.
In the interview about his upcoming film Bloodshot, Diesel spoke on Guardians director James Gunn saying that “He took The Suicide Squad so he’s about to embark on it. Thor will also, the director talked to me about Thor will incorporate some of the Guardians of the Galaxy. That’ll be very interesting, nobody knows, maybe I shouldn’t have said anything.”
Taika Waititi will be the one to direct Thor: Love and Thunder, which is already set to include Tessa Thompson, Natalie Portman, and Chris Hemsworth. It will be taking place after Avengers: Endgame, and also after quite a few other MCU chapters. 2020 will see the arrival of Black Widow and The Eternals, and in 2021 we’ll be seeing the debut of Shang-Chi and the sequel to Doctor Strange. The release date of Guardians 3 is still undetermined.
Love and Thunder‘s still got quite a ways until release, with an opening scheduled for November 5, 2021, but now we know a bit more about what’s in store for Thor and the Guardians of the Galaxy.
